Educating Rwanda’s Future
Along with a safe and healthy home environment, education is a necessity for a child’s growth and development. The children ROP support come from broken homes where parents have passed away or abandoned them, and as a consequence they never started their schooling or had to drop out.
After rescuing these children from the streets, ROP find’s them a safe place place to live - either with extended family or foster families - and places them back in school with all the materials and support necessary to help them succeed in the classroom.
Working through our partner Empower, Develop, Dignify (EDD) we fully fund primary and secondary education for over 70 boys and girls who have no other means of support for learning. Our social work team provides comprehensive support to all our students. helping them with enrollment, any academic challenges or social issues they face, and liaising with their carers to ensure the children’s learning is being supported at home.
Since 2008 we have supported to the education of over 1000 orphans, street children, and other vulnerable youth. Today many of our former beneficiaries are university graduates, entrepreneurs, managers, and parents of their own children.
