Volunteering with the Rwandan Orphans Project

Lukasz Zielonka

Although we are always in need of donations, there are other ways to make a difference to the ROP. You can help spread the word about the ROP and what we do at our Center in your home area, encouraging others to get involved, and organise fundraising activities. Or you can come to Rwanda and volunteer with us.

We always welcome committed volunteers who are willing to spend at least two months with our project on a regular basis (at least twice a week). Unfortuantely we are unable to help with any expenses volunteers incur.

We do ask our volunteers to have a firm plan of what they would like to do before they contact us. Like previous volunteers Anna and Pavel Romaniuk from Poland or Anna Luckock and Louise Beck from England, you could use your specialism to help our boys. These volunteers bought their music, art, computing, social work and therapy skills to our boys and staff. And we are always looking for committed English teachers to help our boys and staff improve their language skills.

We ask that volunteers at the ROP are very self-motivated, able to work well on their own and have firm ideas of what they can bring to our centre and the children. If you would like to volunteer please send a proposal and your CV to volunteer@rwandanorphansproject.org.
